Hey all,

I have a new HP Probook 6450b as of Monday, and as it has Displayport connectivity (not DVI), I needed an adapter to connect my existing external monitor. I bought the following one from Monoprice:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10428&cs_id=1042801&p_id=4827&seq=1&format=2

I used it for the first time yesterday and went to remove it this morning. I pressed the unlock mechanism (or at least thought I did), but the adapter pulled loose, leaving only the connector itself behind in the laptop. There is enough left to grab of the connector, but it doesn't want to budge (as if the locking mechanism never released). Any ideas on how to remove without damaging the laptop?

looks like there is a still a bit of the locking mech on the left side of the adapter could try with a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic stick to wiggle it loose

So I managed to get it free... by disassembling the entire laptop to get to the connector :( The impatient tech in me decided to go after it from the inside since I was able to toggle the lock mechanism from the outside (even with a tiny flathead). I had to remove the keyboard, palm rest, power bezel, display assembly, and some antennas/connectors before I could lift off the plastic frame. Then I could see the two metal tabs holding it in place. Pressing down both of those and pulling the connector did the trick... What a day...

(Thanks for the response and suggestion, Dahak!)
