Displayport 1.3 Soon ?

Hi, I understand that the new updated Displayport 1.3 standard was released last September.

I am thinking of getting this Quadro card:

http://www.nvidia.ca/object/quadro-desktop-gpus.html

But the specs still list Displayport 1.2

Does anyone know how long it generally takes for manufacturers to change their cards over to the newest standards?

If I bought the 1.2 now, would there be a firmware update, or would I have to buy a new card?

Thanks.

I can't speak to a timetable, but given what is changed between 1.2 and 1.3 (physically being the key), expect that you'll need new hardware with 1.3. Firmware won't do it.

Agreed. I would be a bit surprised if anything released before Q4 supported DP 1.3.

Thanks. Didn't realize how long the process was.

Don't think I can wait until October or whenever this card has 1.3 so I'll be picking up the 1.2.
