Display text not "crisp"

Upgraded to XP Pro from XP home and my Dell 2005FPW display no longer displays text which is "crisp." The text appears quite grainy as if the text has been smeared or partially rubbed out.

I have checked the drivers and confirmed that I have the correct display driver.

I have also adjusted the color, the resolution, and the frequency without improvement.

Seems to me that there must be an easy solution that I am overlooking.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

However, I installed and tried the cleartype tool and continue to experience the issue.

I wonder if the native resolution is the problem. The native resolution for this display is 1680 x 1050. However, that option is not available in the display settings.

Incidentally, I am using this display in portrait orientation because I write alot.

The current display resolution setting is 1024 x 1600.

Problem fixed.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia video card driver and the problem appears to have been solved.

I guess that upgrading to XP Pro reverted to an old video card driver!?!

Thanks for the help.
