Edit ** Maybe it is my system that is whacked... Hmmm Odd, when I click on those links, it displays extra characters and thus the wrong webpage. Other links work fine though.

I don't think ATI wants you to see their dirty laundry Arch Angel.

If you search "issue" on their web page though, you'll see these and the rest! Scandalous!

I tried to re-do the links, but they don'd work. :(

Like I said, search "issue" on ATIs website and you'll see them.

I want WHQL drivers that play them right!
Better dump those 7800s then because you won't get it on them either:

Issues Resolved in Version 81.87
GeForce 7800 GT/GTX: Reflections are corrupt when set to high in Serious Sam 2.
GeForce 7800 GT/GTX: Cyan-colored pixels appear randomly on the water tower in F.E.A.R.
Whoops, looks like your WHQL nVidia drivers have problems with Serious Sam 2 as well FEAR and require beta drivers to fix them. When can we expect your thread blasting nVidia for those issues?

As for your "trouble-free" nVidia drivers, including the SLI situation you claim is "problem free" and everyone else is spreading "FUD" because they don't own the cards:

Open Issues in Version 81.87
? Dual GeForce 7800 GT/GTX: Everquest 2 launches to a black screen when antialiasing is set to 2xQ at 1920 x 1200 resolution.
? GeForce 7800 GT/GTX: Text flickers on and off and sometimes rendering stops in Fable on the Dell flat panel.
? GeForce 7800 GT/GTX, Windows XP MCE: Video skips intermittently when playing HD network transport streaming clips.
? GeForce 7800 GT/GTX, GeForce 6800: Corruption of Widescreen great shot playback mode is corrupt with AFR2 mode set in Tiger Woods 2006.

A known workaround is to manually add the mode 1280x960 from NVIDIA's Custom Timings control panel and then continue to select the resolution needed.

So what's the thread about? that the x1800 cards have IQ problems on those games? Doesn't that happen to a lot of cards (nvidia and ati) with a lot of games?

I'm confused.

It must be my bedtime :)

hehe.. that's kind of the point.. honestly, cards from either company really do work well overall, it's just sometimes ppl make huge deals about minor issues.. the more things change, the more they stay the same? ;)

I can't help but feel the X1800's were either rushed, or they're just something to distract people from something else in development.

I think the rush job is a more stable idea.. As for nVidia, I can't say I've used, looked at using, considered using any of their cards..

Though, that four way SLI was really really tempting..
