Display problem... I hope it's simple.

V3 3000 AGP, Win 98SE, P3-450, SOYO VIA 133A
I only have 16 colors & 640 x 480. No other options. When I boot up I get this message...
"Your display adapter is not configured properly. To correct the problem, click OK to start the Hardware Installation Wizard"
I do that and reinstall my Voodoo drivers (from CD). Still I get nothing. All stays the same.

In the "Device Manager" I have an "!" at "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS".
Could that have a role in my display problem?

Any ideas?

[Edit] I've tried a PCI, STB 2mb card also. Same problem.
 
I would go into the bios and then into the bios's Power Management area. See what you have setup for ACPI. If it's enabled, toggle it off so it's disabled. If it's disabled, toggle it on so it's enabled.

Then, save your settings and reboot. See where you stand after that when windows reloads.
 
I toggled the ACPI to the opposite of what it was. It didn't solve THAT problem.
But I did get my resolution/colors back🙂
I had set the BIOS to default safe, or something like that. The PNP OS was disabled. I enabled it, and it was able to recognize my V3. I had to the remove the default VGA in my device manager, in order for the V3 to work. They were in conflict. It seems that the PNP OS enacble/disable ws the key to the video problem.
