I just installed a new video card, an Evga 7900Gt. Okay, so it's not new, it's used. Maybe it's the problem. Here's the deal: I've got a fresh install of XP slimstreamed with all updates and Nforce 4 drivers. I was using the integrated 6150 fine. Now I'm getting artifacts on the desktop, some text isn't diplayed in web browsers, documents, even the Bios has weird characters and symbols all over the place. Not to mention the color, it's off too. Here's the setup:
Sempron 3200+ AM2 - Mildly OC'ed to 2.3 Ghz
Abit NF-M2 N-view
2Gb HP 667mhz Ram
Evga 7900GT
Maxtor 160Gb Sata II
Lite on DVD-rw
2x 120mm fans, one with LED
Generic 250w power supply
Now, Is the most plausible reason the PSU? Is it known to do these things if it's not getting enough juice? I added up the wattage:
CPU -65, OC'ed 100 (I know this is WAY to high but go with it)
7900GT - 50 (according to sites)
HDD - ?
ODD- 20
MEM- 20
Fans- 40
It takes that much OVER stating wattage to actually get near 250w. Please, appreciate the input!
