Do they make a Displayport cable that is a DVI-D cable connection on the other end?

I need to use the Display port connection on my MOBO and connect to the DVI-D connection on my monitor.
I ws told they make a cable that is a D.P connection on 1 end and DVi_D connection on the other end.

Can anyone rec. any brand?

You can buy such a cable from Newegg or Monoprice. However, do be aware that displayport and DVI signals are by default incompatible without some form of electronic conversion.

The only way it will work with a passive cable conversion like you are describing is if your motherboard is capable of outputting a DVI signal via the displayport connector (some can, some can't).

The display connection will be coming from my GPU. MSI GTX 970 GPU

Same thing applies - your video card would have to be able to output a DVI signal via its displayport connector. You'll have to research whether this is possible for your specific video card model, or email MSI's support and ask them.

Also, if you are attempting to use this as a method to add a 2nd or 3rd monitor, it may not work for this either.
