Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

I just built a new rig and every time I go to play a game the video driver crashes a few times with the error to the effect "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered". The driver will eventually stabilize and I can play whatever game I launch, but its a rather annoying situation as sometimes it can take up to 5 min to get to that point. Right now I am playing EVE Online, WOW, and Crysis 2. Nothing super demanding, although I have each game at max everything at 1080p. Here is my rig:

intel i5 2500k @ 3.3 turbo @ 4.7
Asus p67 Deluxe B3
Corsair H60 Hydro CPU Cooler
Corsair XMS 3, 4x4GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 80GB
Western Digital 7200 1TB
Western Digital 5400 2TB
Giagabyte AMD Radeon 6950 2GB x2 CrossfireX
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000W 80 Plus Gold

I searched the AMD forums and they say it is either the power supply, or the memory, however its a brand new power supply and I would think 1000w would be enough for this. Also, I already switched out the memory and the cpu trying to solve the problem. I had a different brand of memory and the same cpu type, but a different chip which I switched thinking I might have got a bad egg, but neither of those efforts fixed my problem.

I have ran the system without overclocking, and with just one video card to see if it is the power draw but it still gives me the same display error. So i dont know what is up. Should I reinstall Windows? Is this not a hardware problem? Can this be fixed without reinstalling (please say yes!!)?? I have no idea what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Yeah I am running Windows 7 SP 1 with all of the latest updates. I have updated to the latest AMD video drivers and the latest Intel chipset drivers. My bios is up to date.

As I said in my original post, I ran the machine with one video card and without overclocking and I still had the error. From what I can gather from reading online this is not an issue directly associated with the video card (i.e. I dont think I have a bad video card), although I have not checked each card individually. I only ran the system with the one card and still had the problem.

Okay, so I went ahead and switched out the other video card and it looks to be fine. So i guess the one is bad. I will RMA it and hopefully that will solve the problem. Thanks for the help!!!
