Display Disconnects Briefly

Setup:

Intel Core i5 3470 3.2GHz
ASUS P8Z77-V LK mobo
8GB RAM
120GB Intel SSD + 4 HDD
EVGA GeForce GTX 760
TX650W Corsair PSU
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Problem: I have this computer connected to a Samsung TV via HDMI. Randomly, the display goes black and then comes back after 5 seconds. The behavior is the same as if you were to unplug the HDMI cable and quickly reconnect it. It doesn't seem dependent on system load since it happens even during web browsing. This problem has begun occurring recently and my system has not had any hardware changes in quite some time.

I have tried different HDMI cables, different ports on the TV, and I have eliminated the video card as the culprit since the problem is present even when using the onboard graphics.

Any help with next steps would be appreciated. I'm not even sure if there is a log file somewhere that I could check.

Hmm, at this point, since you said it happens with the TV, with BOTH a video card and the integrated graphics, I'm wondering if it might not be the PC, but the TV itself. Does it happen, with, say, a DVD player or cable TV set-top box connected via HDMI?

And all the HDMI cables you tried, are they all HDMI 1.4(a) certified "high speed" cables?

No, it doesn't happen when I use my XBox 360 via HDMI. I have also installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 7 and it seems that the problem does NOT occur in Ubuntu. So this issue seems to be Windows related... I really don't want to reinstall the OS.

I don't know what spec the cables are, but the problem doesn't seem to occur with anything else connected, only Windows.

I wonder if you go into power options and set everything to maximum performance and see if the priblem goes away.

If it does, you can start narrowing down the setting that triggers this.
