Display advice...hz and ms

Hey all,

I'm building a new PC for gaming, and am just learning about all the monitor options. I have had a 60hz 5ms LG screen sitting here collecting dust for ages...now I learned about 1ms and 144hz monitors.

I found a refurb 24" 144hz monitor for 200 bucks that I added to my cart. Do you think this is a worthwhile purchase to go with a Skylake / GTX 1070 build?

Am I going to notice 200 dollars worth of improvement in my gaming?

Would you stick with the 60hz or spend the extra cheddar for 144hz?

The ms given by companies isn't valid, use www.tftcentral.co.uk and other review sites that test the monitors to see what the actual refresh rate is and input lag and general quality of the monitor.

Now as far as if you'll notice 60hz vs 144hz, yes you will. drag a window around on your desktop and see if you notice it flickering / jumping. Does it bother you?

No it doesn't bother me...but it could be an ignorance is bliss situation with me. Will a 144z with (advertised) 1ms delay from say, BenQ "Wow" me watching movies and playing games ya think?

Thanks for the response Bacon

144hz vs 60 is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Especially with a 1070 powering it. You'll love it. What res? 1080p I assume.
