IMHO, if you go to Disneyland/World and don't have a good time, the problem is with you, not with the park.

I was out at Disneyland last summer with some friends while attending a nearby wedding. It was a blast.🙂

Pretty much this. I live 6 hours from Orlando and have season passes. We (wife and 2 year old) go twice a year. We love it.

We stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek which is on property. Just a short drive to the parks from that resort. It's not an official hotel/condo for Disney so you won't find it on Disney's website for reservations.

Lines in May won't be terrible if you go earlier May than later. Always try to go when schools are still in session. It will still be busy but not as bad.

whats it like in mid april?

After Easter it's real good. All the USA schools are back in session so that really helps remove some of the traffic. Also a bit cooler. Gets hot as hell down there from May through October with all the blacktop asphalt you have to walk on.

But Disney is a global tourist destination. So year round there will be business there. You will see lots of foreign groups carrying flags around.

I went there in February back in 6th grade and got a sunburn. 🙁 After living in Northern NY I was unprepared for Florida.

Went when I was 12 with the family and honestly remember very little aside from the fact that I just didn't (overall) enjoy it. A little too old, perhaps. Went back again at 28-29 with my girlfriend and we loved it (the counties in Epcot made the trip). I think it is what you make it.

I think the kids that are in the awkward age of 13-17 probably would have liked Universal better than Disney. Disney seems better suited for young ones that enjoy going on vacations with their parents. Teenagers are just too cool to have fun at those parks. That will change as they age.

I went when I was about 30, and had a great time. I liked the Magic Kingdom and Epcot the best. Went in mid March. The last day there was a humid sweat fest, but the rest of the trip was pleasant. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't go later than the end of February.
