Disney Trip Options

Spooner

Lifer
so me and the gf are takin a trip to Disney on sept 2-6th. I'm thinking of buying the 4 day hopper pass ($202) and a one day water park pass ($32) for a total of $234 on ticket admissions. Is this the best deal you guys think I can get?

My other decision is whether or not to rent a car during this time. We're staying at the Fairfield Inn that's supposedly 1 mile away (i need to stay here as I am staying for free on marriott reward points). Now, do I use the shuttle services and have to be confined by their schedules? Or do I rent a car and be on our own schedule, but have to deal with parking each morning?

Thoughts, people, thoughts.....

The parking really isn't that bad, although it is an extra expense. I do think you can leave and come back without paying again. I don't know how crowded Labor Day is, but I went on 4th of July a few weeks back and we didn't have any trouble parking at either Disney or Universal.

How much is parking? I'm wavering because of both the additional expense and the additional time it will take to get into the park. Man it's been a while since I've been to disney

Hey i was there last year, we wented a car and had a blast going all around, i think it was worth it even though there was a shuttle.
Parking was ~$8 i think?
The Disney parks were kinda corny after a while, so thank goodness we only got the 2 day pass and went all 4 parks.
Universal studios might be more fun unless your with kids.

i also completely forgot about just taking cabs to and from places since my hotel is only a mile away. Is getting a cab in the disney area a pretty simple affair? I'd imagine it would be

I was planning on devoting an entire day to each of the 4 disney parks. Should I reconsider? What else is down there of interest?

I've been there like 5 times...went last Summer for a week and I STILL wished I had an extra 3-4 days. We skipped both water parks altogether and pretty much ran through Magic Kingdom as fast as we could.

Universal "proper" is pretty lame. Islands Of Adventure is incredible, but there's only 1-2 days worth of activities there.

I think parking is around $10. We got to the parks as early as possible, but it did not seem to take any longer than it takes to wait 15-20 minutes for a shuttle to come and then drive you all the way over to the park.

i'm not interested in going to Universal as I was just there lsat year. We are focusing on the Disney Parks.

So are cabs a viable option down there?
