I plan on upgrading my motherboard to a dual GPU capable setup and have a couple questions

1) is dismounting the Hyper 212+ fairly simple? its been a year since I put it on, and

2) should I reapply more thermal paste? its about a year old. temps are great and stuff, im only doing this so i can run crossfire/sli if I decide to.

yeah its simple!

1.Power off

2.unplug the psu.

3.wait 10 seconds,

4.destatic

then just unplug the cpu fan/fans and unscrew the heat sink then remove heat sink and back plate.

I would clean off the the old thermal paste from the cpu and heat sink and apply new thermal paste if you uninstall and reinstall the heat sink.

btw I forget the torque pattern when reinstalling I think its top right screw > bottom left screw > bottom right screw then top left. I could be wrong so you might wanna look that up unless someone else posts it.

It shouldn't be too bad.

I think that it's recommended to clean both the cpu and the cooler w/ a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol, and to re-apply thermal paste, anytime you mount/un-mount the cooler.
