Diskless angel: boot xp into a ramdisk

I've been playing with this on a secondary install of xp hand keep getting crashes at bootup when attempting to boot to the ramdisk. Have any of you gotten this to work properly?

I've gotten XP to boot from USB, and I've gotten BartPE to boot from USB and from PXE. I don't really see the point to this though?

The point is that software ramdisks are insanely fast (as fast as system ram). There's also the nice option of nonpersistence. With ram as cheap as it is now, I'm surprised more people aren't interested in this sort of thing.

A lot of people are exploring this possibility now that the eeePC has taken the world by surprise.

Everything old is new again. I remembered back then we used to run 2-4MB ram drives for temp in MS-DOS.
