I have a new AMD800/KT7 system with a Diamond max 20gig HD . Windows 98 installed without any problems, the only problem being SB16 emulation causing a conflict. I disabled the emulator and all seemed OK , I`ve just booted the system and before windows loaded got an error saying there was a problem reading data from drive c:, so I reset the computer and it ran scandisk recommending a surface scan because it had found bad sectors.
Is the hard drive knackered ? It`s brand spanking new; if not what`s wrong, I`d appreciate any help..
