First: Hi all 🙂

Been hanging around AMD forums so far... so now i guess i'll trie here 🙂

I just built a P4 2.4 system on a Asus P4PE mobo. WD 120GB 7200 JB, 512MB, Gf4 Ti4600, burner,DVD...

Problem is my disk is aksessing all the time. Noticed it at once. First boot i went into BIOS, and noticed it made seeking sounds (led inactive). Didn't think about it much, other than maybe it where cuz i had'nt partitoned it yet.

However, i have now installed WinXP and it still does this. Quite annoying. My other systems does not behave this way.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have something running in background on your system. Run MSCONFIG and turn all that junk off and start with the essentials - SYSTRAY and Explorer.
