Disk Imaging Question

Ok, I have two systems with identical hardware. Can I make a Ghost image of one system and restore it on the other? What will happen with Windows XP's activation?

Also, what's the program you can use to distribute an image like I'm talking about, while being able to change the few things that need changing (such as SSID, Windows ID, Office ID, etc...)?

Thanks.

You probably want to run SYSPREP if you want to have both systems functional in the end.
Thanks, I was trying to remember the name of that utility.

Imaging can be different than cloning. I clone my main drive regularly and switch drives periodically. Windows doesn't even blink, so activation is not a problem. Adobe Acrobat 7, however, is a problem. The solution there is to remember to transfer the activation to Adobe's web site BEFORE cloning. Then use that to activate it on the cloned drive. XP doesn't harass me like that - just Adobe. 🙂
