DISK I/O ERROR??

Hey i need some help. I've been repairing and upgrading PC's for a few years and finally went out and just bought parts for a PC for myself I got a KT7a-raid board and am trying to put an OS on it... I keep running into a problem. It won't boot to floppy I checked BIOS to make sure it boots first to floppy. Every time i try it says "DISK I/O Error please replace disk and try again" what am i doing wrong? please send suggestions

I'm sure theres a light at the end of this tunnel but right now it looks like a cave

make sure the cable is plugged in properly. I had mine backwards and the light stayed on.

it turns out my floppy had gone bad i had to go out and get a new drive now i'm just running into basic hardware problems... not major stuff just annoyences. Thanks for the imput
