disk errors in my event viewer

Hey all, I just wondered if this is normal for win2k or not. Just today I was browsing through my system log in win2k. I noticed that on July 28th I had a mass amount of disk related errors that win2k logged. All of these happened within a 10-15 minute time span. All the errors read as follows:

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR5."

On the 5th and 6th of this month I have logged the following error:
"The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within the timeout period."

What are these and should I be concerned about them?
