disk cleanup

this may seem weird but whenever i run disk cleanup, it just gets stuck compressing files and doesn't move. i one time left it on over night and it still didn't move. does anybody know why this is happening?

I'd first run AdAware/Spybot and clean up your system a little bit.

Then, you may want to make sure you have all other apps (antivirus, firewall, screensaver, etc.) disabled when you run your disk cleanup. I've had problems before with similar utilities because another app started up in the background and messed up the one I was running.

Just a couple things to consider/try.

I had that problem on my last install and it went away when i reformatted.
