Gotta buy a new built in dishwasher.

What's the best bang for the buck with quiet in mind?

Kind of related topic, but how expensive is it to repair a dishwasher? Ours is leaking water. Better to just buy a new one? Warranty expired, it's a Whirlpool.

And what's a good place to buy them, Lowe's, Bestbuy?

Check the whirlpool site for recalls Whirlpool Dishwasher Recalls. They have a few. Might get a free fix.

Mine is 5+ years old and $200-ish to repair, so I'm looking for a new one instead.

Best bang for the buck is Amana. Same thing as a Maytag but with a lower cost.

Make sure you get one with 100% nylon racks. Coated racks suck and unfortunately that is what I have.

Have you pulled it out to see where its actually leaking? ie intake line, waste line, the tub itself?

We have a maytag I believe that works ok, but over time the temperature of the coil started melting the silverware basket and now we cant use a couple of the slots for knives and forks because they are wide open. I fixed it for awhile using nylon zip ties but eventually they weakened and fell off and so now we just live with it.

Spose I should just go buy a new basket but still...
