My old dishwasher has a rippled plastic hose that connects via glue to a rubber hose that goes to an air gap. Half an inch of the outside of the plastic hose is glue to the inside of the rubber hose. Does anyone know what kind of glue that is? It seems to have formed an extremely tight bond between the plastic hose and rubber hose.

I asked at home depot, and they laugh...saying there's no such glue.

Anyone knows?

I don't know what glue that they use, but I imagine a new dishwasher drain hose isn't that expensive.

I have only seen the fittings that have ridges that you simply force into the soft hose, or a clamp.

I would imagine a pvc glue would work.

yeah it's not like cheap, readily-available, common sense glues like superglue and epoxy would work or anything

A hose is only $20, but pulling that sucker out, running a hose behind the cabinets, being careful of hot water line, etc...is a scary thought.

Goop...as in that purple stuff - "The Amazing Plumber's Goop???"

Yeah, pretty much any glue suitable for humid conditions should work. Goop, Gorilla Glue would be better probably since it's urethane based and activates even better with a bit of moisture.

That hose isn't under pressure, so it shouldn't really matter much. I'd keep an eye on it for a week or so though.

All the extra white space really helps illustrate your point.

I couldn't tell. I didn't see any blue because I was lost in a Pacific Ocean of white space.
