dishwasher clogged. need help!

I notice that a huge amount of water is staying at the bottom of my dishwaher and not getting drained out(it will eventually overflow while running). Any idea on what the problem could be? I took apart the stainer and everying seemed clean, with no food/dirt blocking.

I searched online and some people say to check the airgap. my particular model does not come with an airgap.

warranty expired 2 months ago, so want to try to fix it myself

I can't remember ever seeing a dishwasher installed without an airgap of some kind...

OP, have you checked the "float" in the bottom of the dishwasher?
