My dad dropped Dish Network and went back to digital cable b/c they kept increasing the rates....

I'm trying to decide between directtv or cox cable, anybody have inputs? directtv requires 1 year contract so that's no good and I think they charge extra for having additional recievers per room per month

Didn't they just increase rates last year? Or was that just uproar about this upcoming rate increase?

I wonder how much of this rate increase is because if Viacom's demands for more money from DishNetwork to carry their channels?
