Dish TV w/DVD Question

Little off topic from computer hardware, but need to ask a Q, figure some of you guys have to have Dish or know about it.

In my parents house there are 3 TVs, but only two of those have the Dish reciever boxes. On the two TVs that do have the boxes I am able to hook up a PS2/DVD Player etc. But on the TV that doesn't have a box I can't get a DVD player to work. When I turn it to "Video Mode" I get a black screen, but I can hear the audio but just can't see the picture. And in the lower left hand cornor of the TV it says "Unusable Signal".

My only thought is that it can't be hooked up to a DVD Player because it doesn't have a box for some reason. At first I thought it might be the cord, so I used a known working cord to connect the DVD Player to the TV. Same thing happened, so now I'm thinking there has to be a way around the "Unusable Signal".

Any thoughts or insight?

Unusable signal???

I would try swapping that DVD player around on your other TV's. See if you get the same error.
It sounds like the video out on your DVD player is going bad.

What kind of outputs does it have? S-video, RCA, Coaxial?
Also what kind of inputs does your TV have?
