DISH Network vs. DirecTV

I'm toying with the idea of satellite because our cable is so horrendous. I've seen the multitudes of DirecTV ads, but I'm looking at the DISH Network deal with SBC (bundling with phone, which we already have, and TV and internet).

Any thoughts? I'm not impressed with SBC, but they are better than our garbage cable provider which is literally run out of an old house and essentially just rebroadcasts a DirecTV feed (and over the air broadcasts).

Price = Dishnetwork (Sortof, they have a 60 channel package for $3x.xx per month, DTVs starts at 120 channels for $4x.xx per month (Dishnetworks 120 channel package is roughly the same price)

Sports = DTV

Receiver = DTV (personal opinion, DirecTV Tivo = awesome😀)

Personally I prefer DTV, I love the DTV Tivo units (record 2 things while your watching another that you've already recorded), I like the yankees (Dish doesn't carry the YES network, DTV does) so for me it would be DTV.

Up to you though,

WTT (DTV/Dishnetwork/Dway/Wildblue Installer😀)

Edit : If you have ???s just pm me

dish network is good. i wish they had YES Network though. other than that, and that my tv goes out when it rains, its very good. recommended

I have dish, and I know several people who had directv, but switched to dish, they prefer dish. Supposedly they have better cust. service and better channel packages.

Hmm, ok -- thanks for the info. I'll take a closer look at Dish because we really need to get rid of this cable provider. I'm not terribly keen on DirecTV because of the cost, but I'll compare them both to be sure.

I don't relish having a satellite again (had one in Japan, hated losing channels when it rained), but we do anyway essentially with this cable provider. The quality of the feed is awful also.

personally I like Dish because they have the international packages that I wanted. I love to watch Jet TV when I have time.

I have Dish at my country house and DTV in my city house. DTV cost a little bit more, but they're both pretty much the same. IF you like NFL Sunday Ticket thing, you should go with DTV.
