Dish Network rules!

I just recently signed up for Dish Network, in which I get their top 60 package which includes all the main stuff, for $20/mo + $5/mo for the DVR (100 hours) for two rooms with free HBO for three months along with free installation, receiver, and dish. After 10 months it goes up $10..is there a better deal for TV out there?

The basic cable package around here goes for $50/mo, and DTV's base package is $45, which from what I understand was only for one TV w/o DVR..

LOL. We called Dish to see about getting an extra receiver for another room, and they quoted us $150 for it, plus a year contract (we've been with them for 5+ years already.)

We told them that we could get Direct TV to set us up with 3 receivers + DVR for free with a yearly contract.

They said they might be able to get us that reciever for $75.

 Looks like we're going to DirectTV.

Also, does anyone know how HD + Tivo works? I don't want to buy a $300 HD DVR, so can my existing Tivo record the HD channels (via the HD receiver), with just a loss of quality?
