dish network PVR510+top100+hbo+cinemax+local = $44/month

...hope this hasn't been posted, but I just talked to CS at DN. they say I can get a

for new customers with a 12 month contract:

DishPVR 510 system (100hours record on hdd)
top100 = $34/month
hbo+cinemax = $16/month
pvr charge = $5/month
local channels = $6/month
------------------------------------
total $61/month.

then they said they have a promotion, so I'd get the above package for $11/month for the first 4 months, which means:

4x$11+8x$61=$532/12months=$44/month

sounds like a good deal to me....

Yep that'd be our new Q3 promotion that we just started a few weeks ago and its been very popular. Personally I can't wait till we start doing more HDTV promotions.

nsa you work for Dish Network? Can you tell me if dish network can work in conjunction with my Mitsubishi HDTV's built-in HDTV tuner?
I want to jump all over satellite but $700 for equipment is ridiculous.

Yes I work for Dish Network in the Executive Office. A built-in tuner eh, personally don't go for those type of TVs myself because they add a fair amount of $ and it's not certain you'll use that type of tuner. Unfortunately it will not, you need to purchase an HDTV satellite receiver in order to get our HDTV programming, same would apply to DirecTV. Are you a current customer or are you looking to become a Dish Network subscriber? Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

i'm having dish network eqipment installed tomorrow 😀

i was told of another promotion by the dealer.
top 100 + hbo/cinemax $50
local $5
2nd receiver $5
($60 mo). but dish will give you $50 credit for 3 months... so you're only paying $10/mo. to start

then i will probably downgrade to top 50 +local+ 2nd receiver ($35 mo)

They figure they already have your money, why give you a deal.
I got a system from them for almost free, all I had to pay was sales tax which came to + - $30. About 1 week after the warranty period expired the receiver went bad. They wanted me to pay $60 for a new one when all I paid for the entire system was $30. I switched back to digital cable. When Direct tv starts offering pvr for reduced rates I am going with them.
I have had regular cable, digital cable, Dish Network and Direct Tv.

Not a bashing or something like that.

My neighbor had very eerie exprience with dishnetwork. She cancelled her service after one year: because she wanted second receiver for free, but she did not get it, therefore she went with directv. The dishnetwork's dish works for directv, so she didn't take it down. A few months later, she received a not-so-friendly letter accusing signal thief. She called and called, they did not want to talk to her; finally her directv dealer called for her explaining she did get directv right after she cancelled dishnetwork. Maybe, only maybe, the whole thing is over, she is still pissed.

Directv is suing many people, too; has this world already gone mad?

Normally when we send out those letters we do research on the matter and make sure that is the case. I'm not sure what happened in your neighbor's case though as I do not work directly with that department. That kind of cancellation is only too common though unfortunately, they get our service and later on buy another TV in the same year. Then they want to get another receiver for free. Frankly I don't think it's all that reasonable especially when they've only been a customer for 1 year. If we kept giving out freebies like that we'd be leaking money like a sieve.

Yeah Dishnetwork needs to set more promotions for current customers, if its a great deal I don' tmind locking in for another 12 months, I would also like to get a second PVR receiver for the bedroom, been holding out for a good deal. If they ran more current customer promotions they would make more money by keeping more customers.

My mom switched from DirectTV and went to Dish, she has regreted it ever since. I too can see the difference in picture quality. I'd like to switch to DirectTV, but I can't live without my RoadRunner!

When is Dish Network going to offer a hot deal to those of us who have been loyal customers for years. All they seem to care about is continuing to build their customer base. I have been with DN since the beginning and if I need new equipment, I have to pay full price or get it on ebay. I think it is time for a customer appreciation promotion. Give us a chance to upgrade to the better equipment for free. I will agree to continue my subscription for another year. I think DN has the best packages and programming however their loyalty to existing customers is vague at best.

If I know an existing Dish customer, can I get him to refer me for this offer using "DishClub"?

DishClub

Looks like the referer gets a lot of goodies.. but I couldn't find anything extra that the new subscriber gets (except some rebate for a 3rd receiver maybe?) - the webpage looks very confusing, they make it sound as if this is some parallel deal.

Just tried to order this deal but the Dish rep said there was an additional $49 "access" charge. Anyone have the name of a rep I can speak to at Dish that will waive the $49 charge?

Thanks
Jim

I think the rep meant $4.99 for the monthly DVR fee. Only way to avoid it with the 510 is to get the America's Everything Package.

So they want all of the smart people to quit their service then sign up again? DirecTV would be more than happy for me to come over for a year.
