I'm tired of paying outrageous prices for cable tv. Right now I have digital cable for $58!!! That's not including HBO, Cinemax, etc...

Now I just called dish network and they said I can get 100 channels, HBO, cinemax for $49!!!

That is not bad!!! I have yet to call Directv, but I will in a minute.

Quesiton, how is it when it's snowing or raining? When it snows obviously the dish gets bombarded with snow and it does get covered up. Will that affect anything? I'm not trying to get on a ladder and wipe snow off.

It's snowing like a b!tch outside and my DirecTV is working great. :)

Of course I am biased ... but DirecTV is excellent.

This should be labeled...satellite vs. cable.

I have dtv and love it. I know people with dish and they love it. Overall I would say you should go with satellite over cable then decide which one to get. That depends on your viewing habits and what they offer you. DTV has more sport packages. (they are the only ones with NFL ticket)

Careful, that may just be an introductory rate with Dish....

My dish rarely has any problems in bad weather. It does happen on occasion....especially since I moved it to a bad place (I'm an idiot!). Prior to me moving the dish I only had an outage 1-2 times in 6 years. Since I moved it I've had 2-3 in 2 years.

I'vr had both. THe $25 dish network package has all the channels I watch, so I am a little partial to them.

I'm in the same boat and I'm leaning towards dish network because I don't want to give Rupert Murdoch my money.

They make dish covers to put on your sat dish to keep the snow and ice off of it. Don't know if it interferes with the signal though.
