Different satellite. The standard stuff is on a different signal from the International programming. One could possibly be down.

That'll make no difference, and it could possibly damage the card as they are static sensitive. Most of the newer boxes don't even use cards anymore. Simply turning the box off and on again will work, or going into the setup and checking for signal.

Damn. That's a lot of snow. Luckily I've never had any problems with snow build up over the last 5 years of so I've been using satellite. Rain fade during heavy storms, but never any issues during the winter months.
