So I'm thinking about getting this instead of cable cause its cheaper in my area..
I can't really get their wording though...so is it possible to buy recievers/dishs off ebay and be able to get an account with them still? or Are you able to add recievers later for no additional charge?
I'm used to cable where its one bill that goes to your entire house but their wording makes it almost sound like your paying a monthly per box instead...
 
I can tell you that if you add additional receivers, they will charge you an extra $5 per month for every additional receiver. So, if you have a total of 4 receivers hooked up in your home, they will charge you an extra $15 per month.
 
I think you can buy the equiptment elsewhere and still get an account.

Check out the hot deals forum, do a search for "allsat". That's who I got my dish setup during the $9/month promotion from. They've got a pretty good deal going now for a 3 room system w/ PVR I think.
 
Why on God's Green Earth would you buy a receiver off ebay when most places give you free/discounted equipment?

http://www.dishstore.net/ is decent and has very good customer service. I got 3 months free programming (incl. HBO/Cinemax) plus $39 for HD receiver and an additional 501.

Installation - FREE.
The kicker: NO CONTRACT. I have never seen a company offer FREE equipment AND no strings attached. It's only good till tomorrow though, AFAIK.

My thoughts exactly. Why buy used stuff over Ebay when you can get a new HD or PVR setup for free?
