Disgusting incident Thursday

I was met by about 7 union workers at the picket line, and they kind of blocked my car for a while. Several minutes went by and they wouldn't move. Eventually the guards came out and they moved, but as they did, one of the guys spit into my open sunroof. I felt it hit me and saw it run down my window. Now I get to fill out a special incident report. Nothing will ever be done of course, but if I had spit on one of them I probably would have been fired. But I guess you cannot fire a guy without a job. And what are they gonna do? Tell him he cannot walk in front of cars anymore? lol

Should have just run their asses over. Fvcking unions.

Edit: Also, you may want to look into legal action. In some states, spitting on someone is a form of assault. You may be able to take it to civil court and get a monetary judgment against the loser.

These guys will purposely bump into your moving car so that they can say you hit them.
We just installed cameras though, so they cannot get away with as much.

Why are they picketing? Are you management or a scab or just in a non union department. What they did was out of line, I'm not defending it just curious about the backstory.

I am contracted labor. My job has never been in the hands of the union. I didn't take a job they had.
We are all scabs as far as they are concerned. We crossed a line they drew on Goodyear.
I don't know why they are picketing anymore.
They "were" picketing to keep the plant open, higher wages (laughs) etc..etc..
But now they have announced that they will be closing the plant regardless.
So it's done.
They tried, which is noble, but why they are still there is beyond me.
Just to disrupt Goodyear's day to day business I guess.

IIRC the company he works for hired him on as a contractor after the strike. They are striking because the plant is closing down next year.

That is disgusting behavior.

on another note, to suggest that spitting on a person is condoned or encouraged by unions is foolish. Spitting is clearly not in the mold of civil disobedience.

Nothing will be done about it.
It happens everyday. Nothing is done about it. I overheard a lady talking about how a guy spit on her car, but it wasnt just spit. It was mixed with skoal or some tobacco product.
She filled out a form, and he is still out there.

I have something to lose. My job. They don't. If I took any action against them (spitting back, yelling, physical altercation) I would probably be fired. No joke. I need this job right now.

yeah that might happen......

if someone intentionally spit on me or my car I would not be leaving in anything other than handcuffs.
