Rant.

Why do I hate Big Labor Democrats? They're liars. Big Labor would have you think that their war against Big Business is some crusade for the Working Everyman. Bullsh!t. Democrats are no different than Republicans. They are both greedy creatures, just that the Dems use populist "we're with you" rhetoric to hook in mindless voters. And boy do people suck it up.

The West Coast port lockout: Big Labor won't agree to a contract because they are worried about not having newly created port jobs falling into their "jurisdiction". $2 billion a day of economic fallout is no matter to them. Who cares how many working people on the assembly lines elsewhere in the economy need the goods that come through the ports? We're Big Port Labor and we're gonna get what *we* want at any cost. Fvck everybody else.

The puppets down at the AFL-CIO threaten to grill GWB at the November polling stations claiming that the President is pro-management and anti-Union by invoking the Taft-Hartley Act. What kind of crap are they shovelling? Your Union buddies are costing our economy big money because they are politico-backed crybabies who can't come to terms that they can't always get what they want. The port workers are the best paid Union in the country and they aren't even going to lose their jobs. Why should we shed tears for them? Get the frick back to work! You want to see people who are struggling? Look at MY generation.

It is rational behavior to fight to get as much as you can. That's not so much the issue. The real trouble is that Big Labor cowardly runs to the Democrats whining how the other side is threatening their way of life by making them go back to work! Class warfare, that's all this is. The Dems are masters of that charade and they realize playing that game is worth millions of votes each election cycle. Shame on voting Americans for falling for this worthless scrap of meat.

I hate Republicans, too. Instead of Big Labor, you get deacons pushing for creationism in public schools. Straight Libertarian ticket this fall.

For real.

They make $80,000 starting pay. Their greed is costing the entire country, from Akmed the market guy in SoHo to big company execs money. They don't care.

Worthless assholes

Hey wake up buddy.
Come to reality.

Politics is a dirty game.
Politicians are even dirtier.

Rep or Dem ... these people no better than sewer rats who will eat you alive.

I donate equal $$ to both parties ... knowing there is no honour amongst thieves.

But, there are some good people as well ... unfortunately.. bad overshadows the good and you have to look real close with a magnifying glass to filter the good from these scums.

BTW, did you know the average worth of every politician in US is $985,000 ?

Per capita income of Congress members is $315,000 a year ...If I add the bribes and donations, even more double or triple.

How much do you make in comparison ? >> Democracy is supposed to be represenating the majority. Don't tell me majority in US makes $315k a year.

Well not their fault, we voted them to seats of power. However we must keep a check on them too.

I just wish the official Liberterian position wasn't so reactionary, especially when most the Liberterians and most of the candidates are far more moderate. I suppose the same could be said for Dems/Reps, but it seems more severe in regard to the Liberterian official position.

Interestingly enough, the Teamsters have been leaning more and more Republican the last few years. I'm not sure how that fits into the picture of a monolithic Big Labor/Democratic Party incestuous relationship though.

Glad to hear that you'll be supporting the Libertarians coming November :)

Yeah, FSCK the American worker! Why can't we all just work in sweatshops & get along?
</sarcasm>

I know longshoremen aren't getting much sympathy from you guys, but distasteful politics aside, realize that organized labor is a lot less powerful and anti-GOP than it used to be. It takes two parties to play hardball.

You forgot to mention how little they actually work each year (short term overall, numerous breaks, road trips, etc.) And the "work" they do is simply putting a face on legislation designed by someone else, either a lobbist organization or their own staff. Of course we have the 28th Amendment to the Constitution so they're all under control, right?

As for what mithrandir2001 said I basically agree.

The libs seem controversial today because it's been so very long since this country operated on the ideals by which it was founded.

But didn't that occur because the Union was sending forklift drivers to operate cranes and crane operators to do jobs they weren't trained for thereby slowing everything to a crawl and making for an unsafe work environment?

I don't really care if anyone is a "democrat" or "republican". I just look for the least shadiest of the bunch.

But all I can think of people that aren't working the ports are just a bunch of lazy, selfish bums. They are costing America as a whole, a lot of money, as well as threatining the lives of many other people depending on them. And the "oh I need security because technology might replace me"... NO SH1T. Either a) improve yourself or b) look for another job that requires your "skills". If you want job security, work hard and prove yourself BETTER and MORE IMPORTANT than technology. Geez.
