Discussion about new case design

Hello there folks

Hopefully this is the correct place to post this, if not I apologise.

Just to get up to speed:

I currently look after my grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease and it has given me a long time to think about what I want to do, and that I need to think seriously about what will happen when the inevitable happens.

I like computing, I have been gaming and fiddling around inside computers for almost 20 years now and combining that with a talk with my brother who designs telephonic cases (network cases etc for phone companies) and how he is trying to start up his own design consultancy in the UK, we thought we might be able to come up with a new range of computer cases.

If you could go here:

and fill out the survey (it should take less than five minutes of your time) I would be greatly appreciative.

If you feel there is anything I missed out on in the survey, please come back here and let me know.

I am aware of the competition, however, I think there is a niche somewhere for me to work with 😉

I have some ideas that I would like to see on computer cases and I'd like to see if those thoughts are echoed.

Many thanks in advance for your input!

Took survey. Oooo...the flat packed ikea, er, idea is intriguing. Too bad there was no option for a 'wall art' case.

There is so much room in the case for out-of-box concepts to improve performance as well as provide better mixing of metaphors.

Good luck with your venture.

I did consider a wall art option, but thought the takers for that would be ... not too many.
I shall bear it in mind though , thank you 🙂

my dream case is the InWin D-Frame, which many peopel wouldn't even call "a case". Looks obviously matter, but what wasn't in the survey includes:

solid and though. i love solid cases.
access to the i/o, pref on the top, like the raven.
zero plastic. (on the outside)
for normal cases, dust filters.
i like a bit of color, but just touches here and there, nothing too flamboyant.

aaaand.. if it looks sci-fi, i like it better.

#24, #27: The first two answers read like the same thing.
#28: an, "either," option would be good. If a case could be so disassembled, I wouldn't have any preference.

If Silverstone revisited the FT03, and made it more oriented towards being quiet, like most of the other vertical cases, that would be close to ideal, for me.

Right, thanks for that, folks. Shall bear your responses in mind.

Apparently my survey making skills have a lot to be desired, something else I'll have to work on.

Sci-fi always makes things better 😉
Quiet, dust free and a solid are some of the major things I look for in a case as well.
