Prior to my computer rebuild my DVDRAM drive worked perfectly. Now while it still reads discs fine, I can't burn anything in said drive. Or at least, no disc-burning software recognizes it. I tried uninstalling the device, updating drivers, no dice. But I put it into my other computer and it can write just fine. I don't know if it's a hardware or software issure, but everything seems to be hooked up correctly inside the machine. I intend to do a system format and fresh OS install soon, but of course that leads to my second problem.
I have Vista downloaded and ready to go, but I can't seem to make a bootable disc. I'm using imgburn to make an image from the folder and then burning said image to the DVD, but the computer will not boot to it. I tried the disc on both computers. And yes, I am setting up boot priority in the BIOS. It says "Checking CD/DVD" and then boots right into XP. My friend said there was something else I had to do to the disc to make it bootable, but scratch me on what that is.
This is the torrent from whence teh Vista came: *deleted*
And this is the folder I'm trying to write to disc: *deleted*
Let me know if you need any further details. You guys rule. <3
