Discovery Wings is the best channel on tv

I watch it almost every day, it's fascinating. There's one series "Learning to Fly" which follows a student pilot through her training, right now there's a show about this guy building his own aircraft. Yesterday there was an awesome show about the Boeing 777. They showed the wings being tested to failure, they held the fuselage down with 500,000 lbs force and applied a million pounds at the wingtip until it broke. The wingtip ended up 25' higher than its starting point before the wing broke midway.

The regular discovery chan has some interesting things every now and then. I find myself watching that and TLC more then ever before in my life.. probably watch at least an hour of either one of the chans everyday... dangit!

I like it too but wish there were more modern military shows on. It seems like their most frequent shows are about wussy "recreational" planes, gliders, etc. I want to see stuff blown up. The documentaries on the lifespans of plans are sometimes interesting, as in your example, but they could definitely do better overall.

There was a cool military aviation show called "Wings" on one of those basic cable channels some years back: Discovery or TLC maybe.

Yep - I think that's where this channel spawned. Unfortunately, they don't play a real lot of those shows on the actual channel. 🙁
