Discovery Channel Macro Microscope

I am thinking about buying this one for our oldest...

Its a little over our budget (trying to stay under $50 for this gift) but it seems like it might be worth it sinse its designed for small kids. I also like the idea that this could be used for non-translucent specimens.

Anyone have experiences with this model? or have another suggestion for the same price range?

whoa, what happened there?

Mod tried to fix link (I'm assuming that's what the edit was) and then I fixed the link in my post and then MX2Times came back and really fixed the link?
