Discover Prestige

The whole "prestige" concept is simply marketing BS, although it seems to be pretty effective. AmEx does have some high-end cards with great perks which could be valuable to people, and that's great, but I wouldn't characterize it as "prestige".

Discover is strict with approvals and they don't typically give out huge credit lines. They aren't accepted in as many places as Visa/Mastercard. I use it for their quarterly 5% cashback bonus program, but that's about it. I don't consider them to be trash, or prestigious. It's just a card.

Only time I'd ever attribute "prestige" to a credit card would be if someone pulled out an American Express Black card. Other than that, they're all the same damn thing.

I don't associate credit card with prestige but its pretty safe to assume anyone that sports a amex gold/platinum (not optima) have somewhat decent credit.

That's the only reason I would ever use a Discover. For a while they were offering 5% off at Dell, etc.

Amex & VISA FTW!
