As you all (or most of you) know, I'm going to be flying down to San Diego soon from Seattle to start a 2,674-mile hike (flying down and walking back, basically). I need to find the cheapest tickets possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Rob

Rob,

You're going to have the most luck on Lowestfare. Occasionally they will not have a low price, so try to use the airline ticket search engine at Qixo. One of these two places should get you what you need.

Have you tried Priceline or Travelocity? We got lucky on my Florida trip couple of years ago, called the airlines two days before departure and they sold us the last 2 remaining tickets for 140 each. Woohoo!

It looks like Priceline only deals with round-trip tickets. Checking Travelocity now.

Did you check lowestfare? They've consistently beat Travelocity, Expedia, and all the major airlines websites in every comparison I've done.

Lowestfare.com is reporting a price of $191.50.

Qixo.com is reporting a price of $145.50.

<< $145.50 is the best I've found so far. Hoping to find better. >>

Hmm valujet maybe? ;) I don't think you'll find anything much lower than that, as it's spring break season. Best buy it early or end up paying more later. You're in the 21-day advance fare category right now.

Assuming TWA is tied for the cheapest fare to your destination on a regular price engine (for ex travelocity), then lowestfare.com will prob have cheapest fare you can find because of the sweet deal Icahn has. Of course, with the American Airlines-TWA merger, I think lowestfare.com might be a site of the past. . . .
