Discontinued windows media center?

I understand windows media center is not available in Win 10. Can y'all recommend a similar program for win 10? Thank you.

Depends on what you want to replace from WMC. I use SiliconDust's HDHomerunDVR for my cable TV viewing throughout my house with programs recorded to my NAS. But I use Kodi to play my music, movie and TV show collection.

No, not by itself. It is a PVR front end for the interface but requires some kind of TV backend to provide the stream and TV data.

What device are you using to capture the TV stream?

I use an Avermedia tv tuner card. My outside antenna plugs into it. Let me make sure I understand: I need the tv tuner card as well as kodi to plan tv and watch recordings? Is there a tv guide?

You need that AND a TV backend to interface with the TV tuner card, download the guide and provide the necessary feeds to Kodi, which acts as the frontend.
