Disconnects From Network When Lid Closes

My eMachines M6810 does something weird now. When I close the lid for a while I become disconnected from my wireless network, almost as if I went into sleep mode but not, you know? I am upset at this. Is there an option somewhere that will stop it from doing this?

You actually got a few problems here 🙂

First, it's an Emachine

Second, look into Control Panel, change the setting to not hibernate/standby when you close the laptop lid. Look into your wifi network properties (i.e. Intel Pro/wireless 2100), and check out the advanced tab. Look for anything related to "power management".
