Discoloration on Projector

I own a Pioneer LCD 720p projector and the top bit of the screen shows a redish tint to it. The bulb does need to be replaced soon, would that be the cause? Hopping to find people with projector experience in this forum.

ohoh the red panel is peeling or something. how old is this and how many hours on it?

May I suggest you get the new AE4000U going for about 2k street price? :laugh:

try using the vacuum on the exhaust port first... may be good enough to pull the dust if it is a dust issue. Opening it up should be treated as last resort since you might introduce more dust.

Yes, but only as a thin strip at the top of the screen, I'd say less than 5% of the screen. It is darker than that, very apparent when watching scenes with lots of white or gray.
