Disc Still Spinning When Ejected.

I notice that sometimes when I eject a CD from my DVD (Liteon 16x), the CD comes out still spinning! You know right after the drive reads the CD @ full speed and when pressing the eject button, the disk tray ejects immediately without the motor to spin the disc down. Can this be a mechnism defect or firmware bug?

I also notice this kinda problem on cheap CDROM drives like Creative 52x, etc.

I have two Lite-on 16X DVD's and neither has EVER done that. Your eject timing is screwed up. Try RMA...

I have a Lite-On LTD-163 and mine does NOT do that either! If an audio CD or a DVD is playing and I immediately hit the eject button on the front panel, I hear a slight "woosh of air" sound of a spin down and then the tray ejects, but the disk is not spinning...

My Lite-On did that maybe once... hasnt done it in months tho... maybe its a problem with old firmware? Try upgrading yours... I did that like the 2nd day I had it.

I don't have a Lite-On but that has never happened with any drive I've ever owned. It can scratch the CD quite a bit over time I would imagine.

Too bad it's not a slot-loader. That would make a cool weapon! You could carry your drive around with one of those 12-Volt dry-cells and a spindle of CDs putting fools out of their misery! Who was that Mortal Kombat hat dude...Kung Lao? :D
