Disc management software better than Partition Magic?

What seems to be the best partitioning software? Partition Magic seems to be the most mentioned, but after reading thru all the user reviews at CNet, I'm wondering if there is anything better for WinXP SP1. It seems to be pretty well split down the middle on people who have problems with XP and those that don't. I have a 60GB drive using NTFS with no partitions and I just want to create a small partition for backup purposes. I don't want to FDisk and lose my data.

Have used Partition Magic from its beginning and it is definitely
a basic no brainer.

A stiff competition is ACRONIS PARTITION EXPERT 2003.
They claim to be 1000% faster, while that is hardly true, it definitely
is noticeably faster.

I'd recommend Partition Magic as well. Wasn't the built-in defrag of Win2k and WinXP a slimmed-down version of that software anyway?

another positive vote for partition magic. I've used it at least 15 times on different situations/computers/drives. Never had one problem. Though I would format if I get the chance but using that can be a much simpler quick solution for a needed partition. As for it's speed... I really dont care. Its not like I partition every day. I also question "faster" utility programs, especially when it comes to formatting or file management. I'd rather go slow and safe instead of fast and have data errors later (not that any of the faster prorgams would do that).

Often the reviewers at CNet are average joes who have difficulties installing and running any software. Some of their comments/reviews are hillarious.

Going back to the topic, I've been using Partition Magic for several years w/o any problems.
