As far as disks, over time I have tried other peoples until i found the ones i like. I prefer the sidewinder for my driver, and various disks for putters and mids.

I have a 9-hole course in the neighborhood, so I go occasionally. I only have a driver and a putter, unlike my brother in law who carries a bag full of discs.

I think it should be required that you state if you smoke weed on a regular basis when responding to the OP's question.

I was up in Alaska last weekend and played for the first time (well I played once before, but I was very young). It was a lot of fun, but I was pretty terrible. The course was in the middle of a forest, so the "fairway" was, at times only 20 yards or so wide- accuracy was a must- anything off line at all was in the middle of the trees

When I was in college we had a course on campus. It wasn't official because it didn't have the basket-type chain targets, the "holes" were various flagpoles, fire hydrants and other landmarks around the university. But it was semi-official in that the student union had scorecards identifying the holes, the teeing grounds and a map of the layout and there were real tournaments. We used carry Frisbees and play if we had a break between classes. Have not played in years though.

First time playing was around '95. Didnt really start getting into it until this year though. My younger brother is into it now and asks me to play all the time. I can throw about 320 feet if the opening is large enough side armed but can't do much backhand. Put me at 120 feet or less and ill put it within 20 feet of the basket every time.

Favorite putter/approach Star Aviar new plastic.
Favorite Midrange - hawk
Favorite Driver - Beast/destroyer

We have a course here that surrounds a lake :Q

Me and my friend used to go there and pick discs out of the lake in the really shallow spots and then try to play with them.

I've played a few times, and enjoyed it enough to buy a couple disks of my own, but haven't gotten around to playing again since. Need to do that!

The other course I played, and the one we went to that we were going to play (too crowded) were both waaaaay more open than this one

I used to go to a private course that has a few holes bordering a pond. A friend and I waded around and fished 5 or 6 nice disks out before we noticed several water moccasins swimming around. We hit the bank as quickly as we could.

As my friends said afterward "That'll make your butthole pucker."

There is a disc golf course down the street from me...
First time I saw it, i asked "what is this nonsense?" but none of my friends could tell me.

True story.

There are two 18 hole coarses at the park by my house. I haven't ever played but the guys that do are serious about it. I'll walk my dogs up there in the middle of winter when its 15 degrees outside and half a foot of snow and the ground and somebody will still be up there playing.
