Disassemble Dell Optiplex GX1

I'm trying to disassemble a Dell Optiplex GX1. Originally came with a slot 1 PII, which I want to replace with a PIII. In doing so, it seems like I also need to replace the retention mechanism for the CPU since the one that's on the board doesn't hold a PIII snugly. So I got the brackets today and figured it'd be a snap to swap out the existing bracket with the new ones. Not so!

I've removed the existing retention mechanism, but there are 4 screws sticking up through the holes where the brackets were. The screws are sticking up in reverse, which means I have to remove the motherboard to remove the screws (at least this is my current hypothesis).

I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out how the hell the motherboard is attached to the case. As far as I can tell (besides the 4 reverse screws), there is only one other screw on the board that can be removed, which I've removed to no effect.

So if anyone has any experience with these boards/cases, I'd greatly appreciate some advice.
