Hey guys,

This is my PC spec:

Case- CORSAIR GRAPHITE SERIES™ 600T WHITE MID-TOWER CASE
Processor (CPU)- Intel® Core™i7 Six Core Processor Extreme i7-4960X (3.6GHz) 15MB Cache
Motherboard- ASUS® RAMPAGE IV BLACK EDITION: INTEL X79, SOCKET 2011, R.O.G
Memory (RAM)- 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X FURY DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (8 x 8GB)
Graphics Card- 3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780 Ti - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready
2nd Graphics Card- 3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780 Ti - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready
1st Hard Disk- 1TB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW)
2nd Hard Disk- 4TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD4003FZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
Power Supply- CORSAIR 1200W PRO SERIES™ PLATINUM AX1200i DIGITAL MODULAR PSU
Processor Cooling- Corsair H100i Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler

I am a little worried about the temperature of my PC. When sitting idle, everything is within 2-3 degrees C of 30. Which I am fine with. But often when in game my CPU reaches around 60 and my graphics card is around the 65-70. I know this is well within the limits of my components, however this is in older games. When playing watch dogs earlier my CPU hit 75 degrees C, and my cpu reached 65 degrees on sleeping dogs.

I have tried bumping up the speeds of fans, but then my PC becomes excessively loud, so loud in fact that I can hear it through my headphones and other people in the house can hear it, even downstairs.

Do you think I am worrying unnecessarily? Are these temps fine?

Thanks for reading guys!

PS. I am not overclocked at the moment, this is mainly down to the temps I am seeing.

Please don't tell me that you bought a 4960X and 64GB of RAM just for gaming. If so, do actual research next time you buy a computer. -_- You were basically conned out of about $600 for this build, before even considering how much extra the OEM charged...

Ugh. Anyway, those temps do seem bad for that cooler, but then again a 4960X might just really be that hot. They're safe temps either way, though. What specific 780 Tis do you have? How many intake and exhaust fans on the case?

Assuming that you didn't throw your money away and this is an actual editing rig, what are your temps when rendering?

The fool who built that should have used a full tower like a HAF X or Cosmos. Its stuffed full hence the temps. Temps are not that bad with that in mind, CPU is a touch high.

This too. $4000 computer in a mid-tower... Just why? Anyway, OP, you are not gonna be able to OC under these conditions.

There are reasons why I built this specific PC, not that they are any concern of yours. I came on here for help and advice and instead just got called a fool and no real help given at all. Oh well. And even if I did want to waste money by throwing it at my build pointlessly, what has it got to do with you?

Just so you know, the cable management in the case is excellent, the case was bought with that in mind, I knew it would be tight, but there are specific cable management holes to clear things up. There is ample air flow in the case and it is not "stuffed full".

You were given advice. Your temps are fine if you don't overclock it. Maybe you seated the waterblock badly?

I'm sure the waterblock is placed properly.
Then it has to be airflow. The 100i should be able to perform a bit better than this, I'm sure. Are you using reference 780 Tis?

My case has an optional side mesh panel which would allow me to house 4 more 120mm fans blowing directly onto the gpu and cpu. Would you recommend me using this option?

How many fans do you have now? Is the H100i an intake or an exhaust? And, yet again, what 780 Ti are you using?

I have a 200mm fan at the front pulling air in, a fan at the back pushing out. I have 2 120mm fans on top of the case acting as an exhaust. I am using the nvidia geforce ti.

When I run intelburntest, under 100% load on the maximum setting my highest cpu temp is 61 degrees C. So how come it is much higher when gaming?

Because of the additional load from the GPUs.

Which brings us back to the idea that your case is either too cramped or not sufficiently ventilated.

I'd try installing those optional fans.

Ok, I will install the fans. The fans I have are 4 pin, so I am going to plug them into the mobo. It will be fine to use a y adapter to plug 2 fans into 1 header on the mobo won't it?

It completely depends. On the wattage / amperage of the fans, and the wattage / amperage that the mobo fan connectors can support. Look in the detailed mobo manual, and look up the specs on the fans.
