I don't think it's a dud chip. It will hit 4 ghz, but at higher voltages. If you are brave or stupid like me, you'll cross the safe limit and get that beautiful 4 ghz round number and after that you'll pray that it's not going to burn. ;)

I think much of your chips' oc'ing potential lies in the quality of your mb and ram. I don't think the same chip will oc the same with every mb and ram combo. It will probably be within +/- .5Ghz. 3.6-4Ghz on a chip that comes stock at 2.53ghz is amazing!

Yes, but 1,45 V in bios for me gives me 1,42 V full load in cpu-z. You might get something much lower then I'm getting and so that could be a cause for stability problems.

What does cpu-z says at 1,45 V in bios?
