I just got a samsung 700ift....the reviews all said it's the best thing ever. yeah, I like the small dot pitch and flatness, color just seems sort of inaccurate and, most importantly, I'm having big convergence problems. In the bottom left corner, I see some bad red leaking and on the bottom left corner there's a bit of a yellow shadow. Please tell me there's some way I can fix this. also, does anybody have an answer to my other thread about the 700ift

I had convergence problems with my LG monitor and RMA`ed it back for a replacement. The thing with monitors is no two are exactly the same and you will always get one that`s not up to standard.

All you can do is deguass and try the geometry settings ,if that does not work then you will have to send it back for a new replacement.

ok...I don't really want to try to do an rma because the place I bought it from has terrible customer service and I already called them and they won't do cross-shipping: which means I'll have to go without a computer for probably more than a week. Also, I'm just afraid the new one they ship me will have the same problem. Every other monitor I've ever used has had much worse convergence errors, so do you think I should just learn to live with it. Would most people really consider some slightly offset red in 2 corners to be a defect (also, would the vendor consider it a defect?)

I have a 700ift, it's awsome, you just got a bad monitor. You wont find a better 17" monitor unless you go LCD.

Hard to say without seeing the monitor but bad colouring in the corner would bother me, to be honest you`re the one that has to live with the monitor so it`s your call, little tip for the future try and buy a monitor from a good company or store, that way if you do get problems you know RMA won`t be no problem or hassle.

You might be able to get a replacement direct from Samsung depending on the warranty policy,I know with my LG monitor after 30 days from new I have to deal with LG direct for a replacement (btw they sent me a new replacement )rather then the place I purchased it from.
