That really sounds like faulty hardware somewhere in the rig. You shouldn't be having such a consistently awful string of bad luck.

Have you tried TMPGEnc?

I can smell a PSU that is underpowered or going bad.

i do not do much encoding but yeah for me the performance going from unlocked 2.9 GHZ athlon II x4 to even 4.0 GHZ phenom II x4 in crysis was barely noticeable.
